The good:The picture on these doesn't really look like the boots, at least in taupe. The taupe was a pretty uniform color (not darker on the toe). I'd call it a warm brown-grey. I was worried the lace holes in the back would look a little raunchier than I wanted, but I actually think they're OK for casual Friday (or any other non-work purpose). The height of the shaft actually does come up above my knee (about 0.5-1.0" above the knee cap in the front, and about the same height below the knee in the back). I am 5'10", 32" inseam. You may be able to fold the top edge down 2-3 inches, but the vertical seam along the front of the boot isn't as nice looking on the inside as it is on the outside. Also the sizing/manufacture information will show if you fold it down too far. I have average calves and the calf fit a smidge loose on me (wearing just normal knee socks) so they would probably work OK with form-fitting leggings/jeans as well. Quality of the suede, stiching, finishing seems good. These are much better quality than I am highly disappointed and thinking of taking further action for this purchase as the product came and at first smelt like burning cotton but I just thought it was its first time hearing and I turn away for 2 minuets and it CATCHES ON FIRE THEN EXPLODES IN MY HOUSE I have a 13 week old boy and this is why I'm taking it further as this product could've harmed my familyI did not like the materIal or the eyelets up the back of the boots. I have returned the boots.Love these boots!!! Very stiff through the top, kind of feels like wearing armor!! The color is perfect.Love themLove them ! A classy over the knee boot !
